Title: Team leader in the SAP team
Education: Diploma in business administration (sales&marketing)
Employed in: 2015
Mik is a team leader, but started work as a SAP consultant in the SAP team of the IT department in 2015. Here, he primarily worked with improving the users’ experience of the internal SAP platform. In this position, he worked closely with both his colleagues in the IT department and the end users, as well as colleagues in other parts of SEAS-NVE.
The close contact with the end users was a particularly important point to Mik when he considered transferring to SEAS-NVE. It was important to him that he had many contacts throughout the organisation, and at the same time, he wanted to deliver solutions tailored for the individual employee’s way of using SAP.
Having recently started at SEAS-NVE, he personally knows what it is like to be newly appointed.
- It was easy and painless to get started here. We have an open culture and make a real effort to welcome new colleagues.
However, there have also been surprises in changing place of work.
I wanted to change to a company where the internal bureaucracy was limited. At my old place of work, it could take six months to get a new server. That means from the day we ordered it until the day we would get it, and ideally we should get a signature from a project manager, for everything. Therefore, I was very surprised the first time I ordered a server, and it took less than a week. I was almost falling off my chair, I was really taken aback.
- Our culture means that I can really feel that the management has a vision, which it wishes to communicate to all employees. There are other places where, as an employee, you do not experience that things are communicated down through the organisation – but at our place, the values seem to be firmly rooted throughout the organisation.
