Since the late industrialisation, SEAS-NVE has worked to increase and improve the control of the electricity grid.
This led to the use of optical fibre cables with a view to ensuring fast, reliable and efficient data transmission for the control of the electricity grid. Today, that service has been rolled out to our customers. The fibre-optic activities of the group have been consolidated in Fibia P/S, which is one of the largest fibre-optic companies in Denmark.
Fibia is one of the largest suppliers of fibre-optic broadband in Denmark – and is the product of an amalgamation of SEAS-NVE’s and NRGi's fibre-optic activities in 2014. The purpose of the joint ownership is to harvest synergies and create a merger platform for the Danish fibre-optic infrastructure.
SEAS-NVE owns 65.5 percent of Fibia, and NRGi owns 34.5 percent.
Fibia supplies fibre-optic broadband to Zealand and East Jutland, while having a clear vision of supplying the best and fastest internet in the market for all of Denmark. Fibia wants to be a leading operator in the development of the digital infrastructure in Denmark, and through this, ensure local, regional and national development and competitiveness.
Fibia holds shares in Waoo A/S, which supply marketing and telecommunication and broadband solutions for a group of owners consisting of Danish fibre companies.
